Barclay Stewart, MD Ph.D.

Dr. Stewart is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery and Core Faculty of the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center at the University of Washington. He manages care for adults and children who have sustained burns and other injuries at Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Stewart attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed graduate education in public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK and Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. In addition to his clinical roles, he directs a long-term outcome after burn injury study based at Harborview and NIH- and DoD-funded research programs in Ghana and Nepal focused on resuscitation and trauma care in austere contexts. Dr. Stewart works with several professional societies that aim to improve trauma and burn care in low-resource settings and is a consultant to the World Health Organization on these issues. Dr. Stewart is also a Faculty Lead at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Strategic Analysis, Research and Training (START) Center in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington.

Dr. Jack Rock MD

Dr. Rock is a neurosurgeon who specializes in neurotrauma and neurological tumor cases. He serves as the co-director of the surgical neuro-oncology clinic at Henry Ford Hospital and has previously served as the hospital’s Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program and Interim Chief of the Department. He is also an executive board member of the Federation for International Education in Neurosurgery (FIENS), through which he works with physicians in low-income nations, such as Myanmar, Ghana, and Ethiopia, in providing training for enhancing their neurosurgical resources and programs. He also helped pioneer initial research on the use of biopolymers with chemotherapy and radiation to treat neurological metastasis, along with research on other cancer types. Dr. Rock also has several black belt awards in tae kwon do and has instructed in the sport. He graduated medical school from the University of Miami in 1979, after which he completed his neurosurgical training at several institutions, including The New York Hospital, National Institute of Health, and the House Otologic Group.

Dr. Grace Kim

Dr. Kim is a minimally invasive surgeon and serves as the Associate Program Director of the surgical residency program and the Vice-Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan.  She is committed to global surgery and the care of patients and the modern training of residents in the low-resource setting.

Dr. John Dutton

Dr. Dutton is a Global Surgery Fellow for Operation Smile and General Surgery Resident at Rutgers University. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and attended Rutgers 
Robert Wood Johnson Medical school. He has a background in health system strengthening research and product development through the creation of two medical start-up companies. John is also the co-creator of several education and training courses for medical students on how to bring ideas to market. His previous exposure to surgical healthcare system improvement projects throughout his training has stimulated his desire to seek a career in advocating for increased access to surgical services in under-resourced settings with the exciting outlook of discovering innovative solutions to pervasive global healthcare problems. It is his hope that his career will allow him to help decrease barriers to surgical healthcare amongst the most vulnerable populations throughout the world.

Daniel Peterson

Daniel Peterson currently serves as Executive Director (Interim) of the Global Alliance for Surgical, Obstetric, Trauma, ad Anaesthesia Care (The G4 Alliance).  Mr. Peterson first joined the Board of Directors of the G4 Alliance in 2019, before being asked to take on this role.  Recently, Dan retired from ZS Associates, a global professional services firm which Dan joined as employee number four in 1984 and over the next 36 years helped grow to a global firm of over 8000 employees in 25 offices in a dozen countries.  ZS helps companies use data to make better decisions in sales, marketing, and other fields, with deep experience in health care and other fields.  Dan has served clients in 31 countries and traveled to over 100 countries and territories.   Dan has a bachelor's degree from Drake University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School. Dan is a certified public accountant and a private pilot and resides in Glenview, Illinois, where he currently serves as an elected official, the Park Board President.  Dan and his wife Melanie have three adult children.

Andres F Dominguez Calero, MD

Dr. Dominguez Calero is a vascular and endovascular surgeon at the Imbanaco Medical Center and at Angiografia de Occidente in Cali, Colombia, which is the biggest cardiovascular and endovascular center in Cali. He is one of the faculty in the Department of Research and the Division of Surgical Innovation at both hospitals.  He is affiliated with Universidad de Antioquia where he teaches endovascular surgery and the Universidad del Valle where he teaches General Surgery residents. He went to medical school at the Universidad Libre in Cali and then did his General Surgery residency at CES University in Medellin, Colombia.  He practiced for 2 years as a general and trauma surgeon at one of the biggest trauma centers in Colombia (Fundacion Valle del Lili, Hospital Universitario del Valle), before going on to do a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery in Universidad de Antioquia, which has the highest vascular surgery volume in Colombia.  Dr. Dominguez Calero is also a twin-engine pilot who enjoys the challenge of flying across the country.  He is an inventor who wants a better world and plans to be part of transforming it into a better place for everyone.

Cynthia Judge serves on the Board of Directors of Solidarity Bridge, an organization that works with medical communities in Bolivia and Paraguay, partnering to train and equip, and increase access to safe and affordable surgery. Ms. Judge is a Communications Coach who designs and conducts Workshops on Presentation Skills, Executive Presence and Public Speaking, as well as Workshops using role-play to practice clear messaging, challenging conversations and the use of empathy. Her clients span a wide-range of industries, with a particular emphasis on health care, education and advocacy.

             Dr. Alliya Qazi MD

Alliya Qazi is a trauma surgeon and intensivist at UC Irvine. Her interests are in global surgery, health inequities, and improving surgical education and access to trauma care.

Dr. Aderonke Adesiyan MD

Dr Aderonke Adesiyan is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Head of the anaesthesia unit of the Burns and Trauma Centre at the Lagos state University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. She is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. She is an examiner and member of Anaesthesia faculty board of the West African College of Surgeons. Dr Adesiyan also serves as the course coordinator for the same faculty. She has certificates in Leadership and Management in Health as well as Research in Global health from the University of Washington. She has helped to set up the anaesthesia units of a number of private hospitals in the Lagos metropolis and led teams of anaesthetists to provide locum cover for these hospitals. She is the immediate past secretary of the Nigerian Society of Anaesthetists and pioneer President of the Society for Airway Management Nigeria. Her areas of interest include Obstetric and regional anaesthesia, Airway Management, medical education and healthcare entrepreneurship. Her hobbies include travelling, watching crime investigation series, event planning and reading.
